Chad Valley Deluxe Wooden Kitchen with Breakfast Bar Reviews

4/5  Bec 'Kitchen took hours to assemble but the features are brilliant light up stove which makes noise like its frying your food my toddler loves this. The tap also sounds like it's running water and the fridge puts ice cubes in your cup with a touch of the water dispencer. Brilliant features plenty of storage space as well Only reason not 5 star is he toast gets stuck in the toaster as falls of the mechanism that lifts it up.'

5/5  Shopper 'We bought this for our sons 2nd Birthday and it’s great. So many extra details. Lights and sounds. Everyone loves the ice cube dispenser. It’s very solid and strong but not too heavy to move to hoover. Definitely recommend.'

4/5  MrsR 'Bought this for our daughters 4th birthday, she absolutely loves it, the detail is excellent. Took a while to build and not easy but worth it in the end.'

5/5  Lyndiloo 'A present for my grandchild, he is very impressed, just like his mummies kitchen'

2/5  James '4 hours to put together! Under sink cupboard door broken off within a couple of hours use, and paint chipped in lots of places already. All the small parts get put immediately in the toaster, and you cant get them back without unscrewing the top section. Made of thin MDF rather than plywood like most at this price are. Don't expect it to last long, but he really enjoys playing with it hence 1 extra star!'

3/5  Bulinka 'I was so shocked after assembly my kitchen, is not same as on the description and photos. Is not double door fridge but one door, is different splash back in the kitchen and Hood is damaged.'

5/5  Leanne 'I bought this play kitchen for my sons 1st birthday and since gifting it to him he hasn’t stopped playing with it. It’s well made (takes a while to put together as lots of pieces) I’m so impressed with it and all it’s features. Great price for what you get I think!'

5/5  Sonia1 'We bought our 2 year old this for her birthday And she loves it Was easy to build and is of very good quailty we are really pleased with our purchase'

2/5  CH67 'Lovely kitchen, however it will take hours to assemble every single piece needed building and instructions were not great at all'

5/5  Aga 'Beautiful Christmas present'

5/5  Tray 'I bought this for my granddaughter and she has not stopped playing with it this product is worth every penny'

5/5  SM 'I read some reviews that said it was difficult to put together etc but I generally love putting together flat pack furniture so was quite therapeutic for me. Took 2 evenings and an afternoon to build around nap and bed time as it was a Christmas present for my 3yo boy. Safe to say it went down an absolute storm. For the first hour of Christmas day it was like he was wearing blinders. Didn't care about opening any other presents. Just wanted to make cups of tea and put the ice in and out of the ice machine. 10/10 love it. The only downside to this is the toaster. The toast easily falls through especially with toddler hands banging the lever and you have to take the entire top off to get it out, unless you have an extendable drain claw (which we do thankfully!) Couple of small chips in the paint work, but we just added a little white paint and can't even tell now.'

5/5  Potts19 'I’m so happy I went and got this as my little one loves it she hasn’t stopped playing with it'

5/5  Iya 'Bought as gift, I get my cooked dinner now from my great grandaughter.haha'

3/5  SG 'It's lovely kitchen for my 3yo, after spending 3 hours putting it together! Only had it for 3 weeks and noticing chips in the doors and wood.'

5/5  Kim786 'Bought this for my 18month old for Xmas. Was worried it might be small and not last too long but it’s great. Size is perfect and allows for years of playing. My 4yr old is loving playing with it too. Really good quality and love the added features of noisy tap and hobs! Although be prepared with plenty of batteries, and it did take 3.5hrs to assemble (this was fine as we read previous reviews so were prepared for it!) Only down side is the toast falls into the slots for the toaster and gets jammed all the time and is tricky to get back out. This bit could be designed better. But overall we’re thrilled with it, worth the money and would 100% recommend.'

5/5  Sophie 'It kept us up until 430am on Christmas Eve but is totally worth it! Even nicer than our actual kitchen!'

5/5  Jen 'Bought for Christmas, my son absolutely loves it. Easy to build with good instructions.'

5/5  Stew90 'Bought for as a christmas present for my 18mth old daughter and she absolutely loves it. Plenty reviews indicate a very long and complicated build. If you prepare in advance by looking out and arranging the parts in sequence, its 90mins for a competent DIYer'

5/5  Jock 'I bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it'

5/5  Dilly 'I bought this for my great granddaughter for Xmas and she loves it she's never stopped playing with it since. Brilliant design and lots of lovely features too. I strongly recommend this for a 3 yrs old.'

4/5  Tinkerbelle 'Brought this for Christmas very nice product but beware it takes hours to put together it's not easy'

3/5  Julie77 'I bought this for my grandson as it looked very sturdy and fun and hoped it would last a while we opened box Xmas eve to put up and we had 2 cracked pieces of wood obviously once he saw it we then couldn't take it down as he is 2 and was absolutely amazed by it but unsure how long it will last as as these were end pieces'

5/5  ShayEvans 'I bought this for christmas and i am so pleased i went with this one. Children love it. Its got so much storage space unlike most others. Electrical lights and sounds and its so sturdy not flimsy and easily breakable. Really is good value and one of my favourite purchases'

5/5  Clairebear89 'We bought this as a present for our 3 year old for Christmas, complicated build but luckily got there in the end with the instruction booklet after 3 hours. Love the layout of the parts being numbered which helped a lot, loved the fact the screws and other bits were in their own packaging to keep them all safe and labelled up we also loved there were spares of all screws (luckily we only needed to use one). The only downfall to building the kitchen were the plastic screw inserts, they don’t work and even resorting to using the drill to do it faster the screws still wouldn’t screw into the plastic fittings which meant parts of the kitchen aren’t fitted as sturdy as they can be which we are thinking of gluing together if we ever need to. The sink plank where the tap fits also had a hole drilled into the incorrect area which meant when the tap was fitted into place it wasn’t flush with the counter to screw together so we had to leave that middle screw out in order to get it to fit onto the counter part of the kitchen. Overall the kitchen looks lovely, is sturdy and our 3 year old loves playing with it but the design needs looking at the prevent other complaints, it’s only small things but still annoying when you are paying the price for something no to go together as sturdy as it should. Also get the batteries required prior to building it, this will make it even better as a lot of the stuff makes interactive sounds.'

5/5  Jasmine 'My son is so thrilled with this item. The detail is amazing and has him interacting with every feature. His imagination is his kitchen is brilliant great quality and completely worth it'

5/5  Sk5 'Perfect Christmas present'

5/5  LovingMom 'Wanted a kids kitchen to keep in our kitchen so that our children could do their own cooking while I prep meals or do dishes. So excited for this! They love playing pretend cooking and I can see so much fun ahead with this play kitchen.'

5/5  N26 'Bought this for my granddaughter for Xmas, seems to be a very sturdy kitchen, unlike the astic ones you can buy'

1/5  Tanner 'The product may turn out to be a success but assembling it took me 5 hours the instructions are awful and there’s about 50 pieces of wood along with hundreds of screws and that’s before you add on anything else too time consuming to put together some bit I put on wrong way and wasn’t til 2-3 steps later that I realised so had to go back I’ve assembled a few flat backs lately chest of drawers etc and no issues this was a real slog it does look great but if I had my time again I’d have not ordered and got something more simple to assemble'

2/5  Dem94 'Takes quite a while to put together and the woods quite flimsy'

5/5  Liverpoolt 'Bought last month and my little boy loves it so many features on it'

5/5  TB 'I bought this for my child's 3rd birthday she loves it, big kitchen and good price as it comes with lots of accessories. One piece was broken which I'm trying to sort out with the care team but doesn't affect the whole build. Battery operated kitchen parts that makes noises are brilliant she really enjoys playing and making food with it. Colour and design are great too. The building process did take quite a bit of time but instructions are clear definitely recommend'

5/5  Gems85 'Brought this recently and so happy I did, my little girl loves it!'

5/5  Ella 'Bought for Christmas present'

2/5  Rosseg 'So my daughter pulled the door off within seconds and I had to order a replacement part. It look great but bad quality'

3/5  Nic 'Just doesn’t fit together particularly well. The dishwasher door doesn’t open so need to adjust it. Lots of bits are chipped and the oven door hole is too big so the door falls out. Only solution is to take it apart and return to store which isn’t practical.'

5/5  Tom 'We've had it for a week or so, and it's very good. Beware that assembly is as fiddly as people say it is - we took a few hours over a few evenings to get it all together. A decent no.2 Philips screwdriver, and 12(!) Ag13/lr44 batteries are required to assemble this, but once it is together it is excellent fun. The parts are also a bit flimsy and fragile, but once together it is fine.'

3/5  Em89 'I bought this for my daughters birthday it looks great and she loves it, but she hasnt had it a month and the toaster bit has broken and one of the doors has already come off! Its a pain to put together for the price you would expect better! But its still good and she loves it always playing with it'

5/5  Itsallieg 'We bought this for our daughter's second birthday, and whilst it took a long time to put together, the finished product is lovely! My only criticism is that the toast slot needs to be re-thought. Within minutes we lost one of the bits of toast in there and cannot get it out... So I'm marking it down a star on design for that, but overall we are really happy with it!'

5/5  Rache 'Purchased for my daughter’s first birthday as I wanted something that she could grow with and it’s perfect for her to explore and learn about pretend play as she gets older'

3/5  Jb 'It has great appliances and perfect for my young lad, and is very sturdy on the dried he freezer with the proper hinges, however it is very poorly designed in the other doors where they hinge inside the panels which split as only thin and the doors pull off'

4/5  Mercy 'I brought this for my 2 and 3 year old girls birthday, they love and so does my 8 year old, even plays with too great buy i hope to have for years as expecting again.'

5/5  Claire 'This is the best value kitchen I've seen. It took me 3 hours to put together but it's definitely worth the time. My child loves the ice machine and the sound effects. One or two two the doors were a little scratched but not really noticeable.'

4/5  Squibb 'So impressed with the quality and detail of this product for the price, it's just brilliant. However it took about 4 hours to assemble and a few parts were damaged/faulty. But customer services replaced these within a day, no quibble. All in all very pleased, but the toast continually gets stuck in the toaster so frequently unscrewing to rescue.'

5/5  Fringe 'I bought this for my two year old boy and he loves it. This kitchen mimics a real life one with the noises etc. He really loves the ice maker in the fridge. It did take me 3.5 hours to build'

5/5  Khan 'It's very good kids love it so much thanks argos'

5/5  Greggs 'The kitchen is a great size and my little one loves it loads to play on and do Some bits where chipped but kids damage things anyways , over 1.30 to put together however worth it when they say WOW'

1/5  Mil 'Dont but this cheap looking and very cheap material broken in days and comes missing. and they dont refund or replace!'

5/5  Nicola 'Love this kitchen for my daughter, she makes her fake toast and pours me a cup of water from the sink or the fridge dispenser. Everything about it is appealing to the eye and also, very very heavy. Made very well. Hopefully will last long enough for my newborn to play with too.'

5/5  Bea 'Took approx 3hours to build by myself. Essential to get out all your pieces and place in number order to speed up the process. Kids love it and it gets used a lot.'

1/5  Nini 'Bought for my son birthday it took 5 hours To build. He looks his birthday present was very happy to have his own kitchen. He just open one of the cupboard fell down because of poor quality of chipboard it too thin. He was so sad when it happened.'

4/5  Sb 'It did take four hours to put together. It came with some chips and dents. It needs 16 batteries. The toaster section lets bread fall into the hole. We love the sound effects on the cooker and tap. My daughter loves the ice cube dispenser. Overall it is a great-looking kitchen with nice features for the price.'

4/5  AshTurn 'It took 3 hours to assemble. Yes there are a LOT of parts for this! Loads of things to to and interactive sounds while playing. My little one managed to fall back with the dishwasher door and it broke the pin hole that the door slots into. (It is the only door without a proper hinge, so we will have to re-attach this at a layer date).'

5/5  MP 'Lovely toy kitchen, sturdy and good quality. Has a lot of features to entertain little one. Do note that it takes quite some time and patience to assemble.'

4/5  Mannu 'It is a good kitchen. My daughter really like it. After following the instructions, build up was not very difficult. Need two people to build. Not the perfect material. Very light in weight. For the price, I think It worths the money but if you can invest more then go for strong one. My 4 years old is very gentle while using but still because of light material, it makes banging sound while closing doors.'

1/5  Lou 'This kitchen is pretty flimsy, both doors have now fallen off and broken, the wood is more like hard cardboard.'

5/5  R8chl 'Bought this as a gift for my Daughter's 4th birthday. She absolutely loves it. Its very sturdy and looks good too. Lots of storage space. Only slight downside is the toaster as the play toast gets stuck inside and cant get it out unless take some of the kitchen apart. It also takes a good 3 hours to build. However its good value for money and glad I purchased it.'

5/5  Cooking 'The price was at a great deal'

1/5  MamaJ2020 'The way the toaster component is assembled results in the toast slipping into the toaster and under the flap which is meant to ping it up and you can't easily get it out. You either have to shove your hands in it or take apart a chunk of the kitchen to get it out. Within weeks the screws fell out of the doors, the clips to hold the doors shut fell out, & the plastic holding the grill tray up went today. It was put together as tightly, but its just not resilient enough for a small child.'

2/5  BT 'A cupboard door fell off within 10 seconds of presenting it to my children, my daughter leant on it and it came right out. The material looks more like compressed paper than fibre board. It's a shame because it's got amazing features and the sounds are so fun. But it really falls on quality, it's as bad as it can get. It takes these L44 button batteries, so you're not going to get your rechargeable AAA in there. You have to see how the battery compartment works to believe it. Terrible.'

4/5  J9 'Lovely realistic kitchen! My three year old loves it!!'

3/5  Manda 'Lovely kitchen, but we had to get a professional to assemble. Breaks daily, my 1 year old accidentally ripped out door. Not very durable but they love it'

5/5  Azy 'Very beautiful wooden kitchen for kids plenty of draws and extra features for role play , also will need two people building to put together can be a little tricky also electric screwdriver ideal!! Overall perfect present for my little angel who hasn't stopped playing with it since!! P.s no problems with any fittings meantioned in previous reviews!!'

5/5  Lala 'Did take about 4-5 hours to build but was worth it as its great quality and appears to be long lasting. Follow the instructions properly and you shouldn't have issues like others may have. Only issue I have found is that the toasters sometimes get stuck in the toaster area and you have to unscrew some screws to get them out. Size is great for 4 year old boy and should last him a while.'

5/5  Kaz 'Make sure you give your self 3 hours to build it.. Haha'

1/5  Em 'Avoid! Absolutely horrific to build 5 hours later and I’ve still not finished and I’m usually good at this stuff! Wood chips easy, not worth the hassle.'

4/5  Chrissy 'It's nice, looks good. It's hard to put together but nothing that 3 hours of patience won't cure. There were several broken parts feet and poor or broken edges, unfortunately I did not notice this while unpacking so only noticed when building in which case I'm not dismantling it on my daughter's birthday Eve to take it back... Broken foot and a few poor edges but nothing that will cause permanent issues (broken food was also secured with a screw which basically held it all together)'

5/5  Anonymousperson123 'Very cute kitchen. Well-priced. Excellent for imaginative play.'

5/5  Rjthorpe88 'My toddler loves this kitchen, it was a great purchase, she plays with it every day. It takes a long time to put together 4-5 hours but the instructions are simple to follow. Very pleased with it.'

2/5  K13M 'Bought the kitchen as a gift for our daughter. When we came to assemble we discovered one of the doors had the incorrect fixture on so we couldn’t fit the door. Contacted Argos and they were unable to send a replacement door and said we had to return the kitchen to store for a refund. It was already assembled so I explained it wasn’t possible to return. My issue is still unresolved.'

3/5  Heather 'I strongly recommend you think twice before buying this item, It took s almost 5 hours to put together which was massively frustrating, not only that We put this together exactly as the instructions stated yet one of the doors wouldn’t open properly without getting caught, if it hadn’t of taken so much time and effort I would have sent it back, it looks great and our son loves it but a plastic one would have made him just as happy.'

1/5  Chloe 'I would definitely think twice upon purchasing this kitchen. As well as arriving with many faulty parts, the quality on the item is dreadful. The door under the sink does not fit in correctly, and where it only has slots to fit the cupboard it had completely broke upon building. The toaster doesn’t work at all, the door latches do not stay in properly, the hobs also constantly pop out. My son does enjoy playing, but it is definitely overpriced for what it does and the quality.'

1/5  DisappointedDad 'Many good points generally, however one major flaw. The door under the sink is secured with a metal pin almost as thick as the (thin) chipboard in which it’s mounted. When a toddler opens the door the pin is pushing against less than 1mm of chipboard - which failed quickly. Seems impossible to get through to customer service or complain via automated online tool.'

5/5  Bobbyg 'This kitchen is amazing. It has many sounds powered by batteries and the gas rings are great many other items that keep our grandson happy. A very good buy.'

4/5  Jacqueline 'Daughter loves it Could be made easier to build bit of a nightmare but once up it a fantastic kitchen'

4/5  Simmo6 'Bought this as a main Christmas present for my 2 year old. It is a fiddle to build, but well worth the 2 or so hours to do so. He has absolutely loved it and is constantly playing with it. There could be one or two alterations to make the design of this kitchen better, but I'd be just nit picking to be honest. Its well worth the money and I'm so glad I bought this one.'

5/5  Fish 'Good product but all u have done is hound me with emails 1130 last night had enough now leave me alone'

5/5  Amy 'A fantastic buy. Very robust, great height and interactive. Realistic sounds on hob, tap, timer and has an ice dispenser in the fridge. Bought for 18 month old and 4.5 year old, both kids love it! Took 2 adults who are good with DIY 4 hours to build. Instructions are not very good but once we started it was fine.'

4/5  Lynette28 'A bit of a pain to assemble. But worth the effort to see the kids enjoying it. It is one of the more expensive ones. But again, worth it. Its very sturdy and well made.'

2/5  Vonney 'Biggest issue was that the dowels were too long so has left multiple areas of damage to the kitchen took a long time to out together and instructions were a bit iffy, that being said we decided not to return it due to complications with covid and my little one loves'

4/5  Nicola 'Lovely kitchen, well made for the price. If you're buying this for Christmas though, do not wait until Christmas Eve to build it. This is a long job as hundreds of pieces and takes a good few hours! Very happy with it though, and sure daughter will love it'

5/5  Clare 'I love this kitchen! Bought for our granddaughter for Christmas. Takes a good couple of hours to put together, but it’s really good quality, takes 12 button batteries which you don’t get with it but gives great sound effects like running water from the tap, oven beeps & hob sizzles!! Absolutely love it, can’t wait to see our granddaughters face at Christmas.'

5/5  Dan 'Bought this for my son as he loves pulling my kitchen apart and he loves it.'

5/5  Mary 'Absolutely brilliant product and brilliant for the price!!!'

5/5  Didi 'I think for the price it should include the batteries'

5/5  Chloe 'I got this for my 4 year old son and he loves it, spent so many hours playing with it, it took around 4/5 hours to build but so worth the time'

5/5  Karzy07 'Just got to be careful on sides l, But amazing kitchen for the children.'

3/5  Dave 'The kitchen itself looks fine and would have loved to give it 4-5 stars but the assembly is horrendous. Some of the screws just don’t fit and in the end some parts I had to just use glue. The toaster screws just just don’t work even my husband could not fit them. They tired to imitate ikea and failed is how I see it. I so wanted to love it because it has lot of things which make it cool like the water sounds for tap, gas cooker etc but the assembly ruins all the fun.'

5/5  Andy 'Must have if you have young kids Great for imagination'

5/5  Dem 'The kitchen is amazing quality and well worth it money it’s great for the kids'

5/5  Becca 'Good quality and my son loves it.'

4/5  Faffy 'Bought for 2 year olds bday Its brilliant, full of little noises, the ice machine is very realistic. The design for a smaller child isnt the best, she cant yet reach to successfully use the "microwave" part or the black board. However she will grow into it. The toaster is poorly designed, the pieces of toast are already stuck inside and can only be retrieved if the back panel of the kitchen is removed, it need to be redesigned. The door catches dont work well either they pop the doors open'

5/5  Shane 'Perfect for what my daughter wanted'

5/5  SB 'Bought this kitchen for a Christmas present. I have looked at many others and this one was recommended . Looking forward to seeing it assembled.'

5/5  PenkhullBob 'The quality of the parts is very good, but takes a while to construct.'

5/5  Letii 'I would like to recommend this product as it is good for pretend play, also it helps their cognitive development :).'

3/5  Sammy 'Love the design and colour of the kitchen, love that it has many features including sink, grill, oven, fridge with ice machine, microwave etc. My daughter loves it. Comes with a few accessories. Takes ages to build Not of the best quality.. when put it together we noticed some scraps, marks and chipped paint, fridge doors don’t line up straight and one door won’t connect properly. We decided after taking so long to put it together that we would just keep it.'

5/5  Tinax 'Absolutely love this little kitchen, have brought for my 4 year old for Christmas, can not wait to see their face x'

5/5  Kelly 'We brought this kitchen for our daughters second birthday and she LOVED it!!! It took my husband 3.5 hours to build but it’s very well made and sturdy. The only flaw is the toaster bit, within 10 minutes the pieces of toast were stuck inside and there isn’t away to get them out, other than that though it fab! She’s going to have hours and hours of fun with it x'
